The use of 'mark-making', decoration of green-ware and the use of tools or processes to decorate and alter form are a priority to the way I work with porcelain. I like to investigate 'sensitivity' concerning the surface qualities of clay and its interaction with decoration. Glazes are employed specifically to serve purposes relating to the enhancement of clay surfaces, form and applied decoration.

I see myself as a contemporary Irish ceramic artist in the 21st century, and my influences are boundless, past and present. My quest for a personal, ceramic aesthetic has been deeply influenced especially by equally valuing materials, making, and function.

I am working full time in my craft business as Designer-Maker.
